Cavoodles and Theodores

The Cavoodle is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, combining the loving, gentle nature of the Cavalier with the intelligence and low-shedding qualities of the Poodle. They are well known for their affectionate personalities, adaptability and ability to form strong bonds with their families, making them wonderful companions for children, couples, singles and homes with other pets. At Designer Oodles, our Cavoodles are raised inside our family home and extensively socialised from birth to help them grow into confident, well-adjusted puppies. We place a strong emphasis on health, temperament and early development, giving every puppy the very best start in life. As our program develops, you may notice us talking about both Cavoodles and Theodores. A Cavoodle is the familiar Cavalier King Charles Spaniel × Poodle cross, while Theodore is the MDBA’s breed-in-development name for this combination, with the aim of developing a more consistent, healthy and predictable companion dog. We will be gradually introducing Theodore genetics into our existing Cavoodle lines rather than changing our program all at once. This allows us to carefully develop our lines while continuing to focus on the qualities our families know and love — beautiful temperaments, loving personalities, wonderful family companions and the gorgeous teddy-bear appearance. For our puppy families, this means you will continue to see the beautiful Cavoodles you know and love, while we thoughtfully work towards the exciting future of the Theodore within our breeding program.
